How Food Hunter handles personal information across restaurant ordering websites and the FH Admin restaurant-management app.

Effective and last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Scope

Food Hunter owns and operates online ordering technology for participating restaurants. This policy applies to:

  • customers who place orders through restaurant websites powered or managed by Food Hunter; and
  • restaurant owners, managers and authorized staff who use the FH Admin app to receive and manage orders.

Participating restaurants receive and use customer order information to prepare, fulfil and support orders. A restaurant may also have its own privacy practices that apply to its direct relationship with its customers and staff.

2. Information we handle

Customer order information

When a customer places an order, we may handle information such as the customer’s name, telephone number, delivery address, order details, pickup or delivery instructions, special requests and information needed to calculate and fulfil the order.

Restaurant app information

When authorized restaurant personnel use FH Admin, we may handle:

  • an email address, authentication identifier and authentication status;
  • restaurant identifiers, operational settings and actions taken to manage an order;
  • a push-notification device token used to notify the restaurant about orders; and
  • technical information needed to connect the app securely to Food Hunter, cloud infrastructure and restaurant services, which may include device, network, log and IP address information.

Password credentials used by the app are processed by our secure authentication service provider. Food Hunter does not receive or store a readable copy of the password.

Website analytics and cookies

Restaurant ordering websites may use cookies and Google Analytics to understand website usage and improve the ordering experience. Website analytics may include browser, device, approximate location and interaction information. FH Admin does not use analytics or advertising trackers.

3. How we collect information

We collect information when a customer submits an order, when restaurant personnel sign in or use FH Admin, when a device registers for order notifications, and automatically when our services communicate with a device or browser. We may also receive information from a participating restaurant when needed to configure or support its service.

4. How we use information

We use personal information only for purposes reasonably connected to providing and supporting Food Hunter services, including to:

  • send orders to the selected restaurant and enable the restaurant to fulfil them;
  • authenticate authorized restaurant personnel;
  • deliver order notifications and display order information in FH Admin;
  • allow restaurant personnel to accept, update, print and otherwise manage orders;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve our services;
  • respond to support, access, correction and deletion requests; and
  • meet legal, regulatory, accounting and security obligations.

We do not sell personal information or use information from FH Admin for third-party advertising.

5. How we share information

Customer order information is made available to the restaurant selected by the customer and its authorized personnel so they can prepare, fulfil and support the order.

We may also provide information to cloud service providers that supply secure authentication, database infrastructure, notifications and related application services. These providers may process email addresses, authentication information, device tokens, IP addresses and technical information only as necessary to provide and secure these services. Service providers are permitted to handle information only for the services they provide to us and must protect it appropriately.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law, legal process or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect people, our services or legal rights. If Food Hunter is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable privacy requirements and continued protection.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods depend on the type of information, the needs of the participating restaurant, support and security requirements, and applicable legal, tax and accounting obligations.

  • Order information may be retained while needed to fulfil and support an order and for legitimate restaurant, accounting, dispute-resolution and legal requirements.
  • Restaurant authentication information is retained while an authorized account remains active and as required for security, legal or backup purposes after closure.
  • Push-notification device tokens are retained while a device is registered or until the token is replaced or no longer needed.

Information may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten under our normal backup schedule. We securely delete or de-identify information when it is no longer required.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, a person may ask to access or correct personal information held by Food Hunter, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or request deletion of information that we are not legally required to retain.

Customers may contact Food Hunter or the restaurant through which they placed an order. Restaurant personnel may ask their restaurant administrator to update their access and may contact Food Hunter for support. We may need to verify identity and authority before completing a request.

FH Admin users may disable notifications in iOS Settings. A restaurant can also deregister a device from order notifications within its settings. Disabling notifications does not prevent the rest of the app from functioning, but the device will no longer receive order alerts.

8. Security and storage

Food Hunter uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Food Hunter and its service providers may process or store information outside the province or country where a person is located, including outside Canada. In those locations, information may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of the local jurisdiction. We require service providers to protect information in a manner consistent with this policy and applicable law.

9. Children

Food Hunter services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate additional notice where required by law.
